Thank you for consolidating this madness into a very concise list of the dangers that will affect all of us, Rekha. We need to pay attention and vote like our children’s and grandchildren’s lives depend on it. Because they do.

Thank you for laying this out for us, Rekha. It is terrifying, and so important that everyone knows what the plan is and that a our votes are the only way to stop it.

Dads of daughters need to speak up and forcefully push back against our current majority of conservative GOP legislators, governor, and attorney general. The near total six week abortion ban is outrageous, when the Dobbs ruling struck down girls’ and women’s fundamental right to an abortion. I do not understand this ill conceived way to prevent women from receiving the necessary healthcare. Thank you, Rekha! Blessings.

Project 2025 is truly a terrifying prospect. Trump clearly wants an authoritarian government; it would be much worse than his first term. It does seem to me that in many ways Iowa is a microcosm of what trump wants to do. We’ve seen the diminishing of public education funding, private school vouchers, elimination of AEA, increased pollution of Iowa waterways. IA ranks #2 nationally in new cancers. Reynolds refused federal money for children’s summer feeding programs.

Thank you Rekha for laying this out point by point. It’s a terrifying document, and it helps to see it laid out so clearly.

Thank you for this information. I am curious what authoritarian Kim Reynolds has in store as punitive measures for those Republicans now suing the Iowa Utilities Commission over eminent domain and proposed pipelines. Of course, maybe her desire is to simply do away with such commissions.

I've noticed TV ads for local GOP candidates talking about how they increased money for teacher salaries. How many of them voted for the private school vouchers? A great subject for a column...
