What's with all this vindictiveness that Iowans seen so proud to flaunt these days? I'm 60 years old, have lived here all my life, and am ashamed and appalled by what our leadership and even our neighbors have become. It's scary. And incredibly sad.

Nice take on backing the blue, too.

This whole bit about a state AG trying to force a locally elected officer who is following the law to post an ideological statement is troubling. This is eighth grade stuff. Winnishiek County might end up being the birthplace of a revolution.

I am not a person who enjoys really large crowds, but went to a rally yesterday in Lisbon that connected to Mt. Vernon in protesting the state of our Federal government. Between two small towns, a bunch of retirees organized a sizable protest of between 2 to 3 hundred people of all ages and persuasions and from several counties around the area to announce they had had enough! There will be more protests coming, so if you missed the first, expect more! We are the power! Everything has to be done in our name, not Trump or Musk, "We the People" are thosethey have to answer too!

Dan Marx only apparent infraction was stating the facts, truthfully. And, also not showing proper fealty to Brenna Bird or Kim Reynolds. Our grievously flawed and misguided governor, continues her reign of recklessly harmful behavior, unabated. She insisted on having her own attorney general, as I recall. She was successful and we’re paying the price for her choices on a regular basis.

Thank you for this Rekha. It is so important to point out the courage in the face of the abhorrent actions coming from our Republican office holders.

We’ll see you downtown!!

Thank you, Rekha, for telling us the facts. Every day there are more horrible things taking place in Iowa and in the nation but we all need to be aware of it, as hard as it is to hear.

It’s a shame that protesters have to pull the reins in when expressing true incredulous feelings about whats going on in this administration. I think they are just itching to call for Marshall law at the slightest hint that we are unruly. Take care today

CATHOLIC — ICE, BORDER PATROL & LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENTS - The POPE said Trump’s immigrant deportation plan is evil and Vance’s rationalization to justify it … is wrong.  The POPE said “Trumps deportation plan is a crisis.” Catholics believe the POPE’s words are infallible.  The Bible says “You cannot serve God and mammon".   SO YOU MUST CHOOSE!

Are detainers unconstitutional? Seems that must be legally answered before Democrats get their panties in a bunch over the state’s reaction to a local county sheriff who’s refusing to enforce them from our federal government.

The Iowa AG fancies herself as a leader of the thought police. She needs to study her job description. And stop traveling to NY to criticize jury and judge.
